To The Glory of God

To The Glory of God

To Know God...and Make Him Known

"So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

Aloha

The Challenge of Not ForgettingI've been reading through the book of Exodus these past few days and it is striking how quickly the Israelites begin to complain and think that what they had in Egypt was better than what God had for them. Whenever a trial popped it's as if they simply forgot about the amazing power of God to deliver them out of the hands of Pharaoh. The irony, in all of this, is earlier this week, while I was journaling, I realized I was complaining to God. "God you brought us here. God where did you go? God you spoke to us about the future...why have you abandoned us?" In that moment I recognized that I had just read about the powerful hand of God to deliver and provide for his people; literally minutes before I started journaling. My journal was sounding more like the Israelites who forgot about what God did in their past rather than someone like Caleb (who scouted the promised land) who remembered what God had done and what God had promised. I man full of faith because He can trust in the God who's always been faithful. It's easy to forget what God has done before. When we do forget, it sure does become easy to walk with anxiety and worry regarding the future. May we be people who recite God's faithfulness daily. May we be ones who remember what God has done through the reading of His word and also in our lives. There's such freedom for the future when we remember.Jeju, KoreaKorea, this past August, was filled with such sweet fellowship of all the School Leaders in School of Worship from around the world. We had around 40 people attend and it was our first gathering since the pandemic postponed our original gathering. At this gathering, I announced the importance of School of Worship globally to rally around the push in Oral Bible Translation and Oral Mother Tongue translations (these are the various dialects around the world outside of the major ‘recognized languages). Particularly, to help facilitate new projects and walking alongside indigenous musicians to write/record scripture songs in these newly translated languages in their own local sound. Globally, we as School of Worship have covenant together in five areas. At this gathering we voted to add the 6th covenant and renewed our covenant to hold to these pillars of School of Worship. They are; we covenant together:1) to see all nations, tribes, peoples and languages come to worship the Lamb of God.2) to fulfill our calling and destiny to teach and lead all peoples into God's plans, promises, and presence.3) to work together in unity and servanthood as SOW International family to see the values of the SOW preserved and imparted.4) to be a prophetic voice in the nations, seeking God for ew ways in worship.5) to make every effort as SOW staff to ensure desired outcomes are achieved in the areas of character, knowledge, and skills.6) to carry the torch of OBT/OMT by helping to call into existence new scripture songs in newly translated languages; and ensuring that they are released to the correct regions (*Oral Bible Translation/Oral Mother Tongue).I’m excited to see how the global family runs with this new initiative. We Do This TogetherLastly, I wanted to express how grateful we are for each one of you. Although our work in YWAM is beyond full-time, YWAM doesn't pay any of its staff. We are all volunteers around the world!! YWAM value #16 is "Practice dependence on God." We give of our gifts and talents freely to YWAM without any expectation of renumeration. This means that, because of each and every one of you, we are able to do the work that we do around the world in missions, training, Bible distribution, and Bible translation. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of this team with us. There are not enough words to convey our gratitude. We have seen God move, time and time again. We feel you with us in every moment. BlessingAll praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. May God bless each of you abundantly. May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you peace. May the Lamb receive the full reward of His suffering!!Peace be with you,Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, Moses, and Zion
