To Know God...and Make Him Known

Though The Seasons Change, Jesus Remains The Same... 

On our new album that we released from YWAM Kona Music, my friend Bryce's song has these lyrics in the chorus: "When you say go how can I stay? The only way to live is to give my life away." This truly is our hearts cry as a family. Whatever you ask us to do God, we want to simply Go and Do it. I love how Oswald Chambers describes what a missionary is. He says this, "A missionary is one sent by Jesus as He was sent by the Father. The dominant note is not the needs of men, but the command of Jesus." Chambers finishes by saying, "When looking back on the lives of men and women of God the tendency is to say--'What wonderfully astute wisdom they had! How perfectly they understood all God wanted!' The astute mind behind, is the Mind of God, not human wisdom at all. We give credit to human wisdom when we should give credit to the Divine guidance of God through childlike people who were foolish enough to trust God's wisdom and the supernatural equipment of God." I continually pray that my wife and I would be childlike people, foolish enough to trust God's wisdom and supernatural power. The Hymn 'Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus' comes to mind. The refrain says, "Jesus, Jesus how I trust Him. How I've proved Him o'er and o'er. Jesus, Jesus precious Jesus. O for grace to trust Him more." God would we trust you more than anything in this world!Teaching...

Through the blessing of technology, I was able to teach in two schools at the same time! I spent a whole week (in the evenings for 3 hours) teaching in Mongolia on musicianship, creativity, and songwriting via South Korea. In the mornings (for an hour), I was teaching in Paris on Intimacy with God. It was bizarre, tiring, and simply AMAZING! God can do anything with our simple obedience! Above are some pictures from those times!Big Changes!As we listen and obey God, we find ourselves on adventures we may not have chosen in our own human wisdom and understanding!! To be clear, we are still based out of Kona and I still bring essential leadership to our YWAM base and Kona Music community. Over a year ago God began to stir our hearts regarding our housing/living situation. It built up to Him leading us to sell our condo last Spring and believe for a bigger home. Our condo officially sold at the beginning of Fall. We essentially needed to move out by the end of this month...but I was also scheduled to be teaching and leading worship at the YWAM Lakeside base in Montana. Through a series of events (somewhat bizarre), all of our belongings are now in a storage unit and our whole family is now in Montana. We will be here in Montana for a total of three weeks. There will be lots of teaching, lots of ministry, lots of discipleship, and lots of worship leading! From here, we are driving to California and believing for God to open up opportunities for us to minister as we go; hopefully do some worship nights along the way as well. After celebrating Thanksgiving in California, we will be heading back home to Kona in December. We're not exactly sure where we will land for housing yet...we don't have anything lined up, but over and over God has been so faithful to us. We're simply taking it one step at a time and then asking, "Are we still going the right way Lord?" What a joy it is to trust in Jesus. What a privilege it has been to see God work in and through our lives when it all looks upside down to human wisdom. Pray for us as we continue to abandon our plans in order to grab onto the plans that God has for our lives! Please also be praying for the closing of Escrow on our condo! As it would happen, the buyers filed for a 15 day extension of escrow after we had already left which was unexpected. It would be nice to have that settled sooner rather than later. But again, we lay that at the feet of Jesus and we choose to focus on Him over anything else!We Do This Together...Thank you so much for standing with us in this mission that God has sent us on as a family. Without your partnership, financially and in prayer, none of this is possible! Thank you for your perseverance with us to see people “know God…and make Him known!” We praise God together with you knowing that He's not surprised by all that's going on in the world and that He's working out His plans!
