To Know God...and Make Him Known
McCalls
On Mission...
“Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the good news about Christ…” Philippians 1:3-5
Aloha
When I sat down to write this, I immediately thought of the verse above and how thankful Paul must’ve been for the believers in Philippi. This church was one of the few churches that sent financial aide to Paul. Your generous partnership has allowed us to pour our lives into the unsaved and saved alike. It has allowed us to train and equip missionaries for short-term and long-term service. It has allowed us to deliver bibles to areas where, previously, they had no bible in their heart language. Together, as a team, we have seen thousands of lives transformed by the good news of Jesus. Indeed, every time I think of you, I give thanks to God.
School of Worship Kona…
By the grace of God, we have seen an amazing outpouring of blessing on our School of Worship here in Kona. We’ve already completed 5 weeks of training and there’s been an explosion of breakthrough. Our 26 students have grown in knowing the nature and character of God, finding full identity in God alone, leading worship and ministry through the partnership/empowerment of the Holy Spirit, and Leadership. This coming week we have the privilege to be taught by Leslie Jordan (formerly of All Sons and Daughters…you may recognize her song “Great Are You Lord”) on songwriting and creativity. We’re already halfway through the school but God has so much more to deposit into these students before they are sent out!
Myanmar…
I’m sending a team to Myanmar from my School of Worship after New Year. They will be partnering with our Gospel campaigns, street evangelism, and Bible distribution. They will also be teaching at the Music Institute in the city of Yangon. There is a huge need for Biblical teaching on worship. Practical teaching on Worship Leading is also a huge need in the country. An amazing open door has been given to us as the School of Worship. Finally, they will be helping to pioneer a House of Prayer in partnership with this Music Institute. Pray for this team as they prepare to be in the country for about 2 1/2 months. Liz and I will be taking our family to visit the team on a Pastoral visit. We will also take part in one of the many Gospel campaigns. Pray for our finances for the trip. Liz and I are raising extra support for this to happen.
Montana…
A couple of weeks ago I was teaching in the YWAM School of Worship in Lakeside Montana near Kalispell. I was so grateful to see this base for the first time and see the work/training they are doing in music. My teaching topic was Worship Leading. God went after so many aspects of being a worship leader. From personal walk with Him, administrative duties, to interpersonal dynamics and more; God was on the move. Between leading worship, multiple times during the week, teaching for 3 hours every morning, and meeting with students in the afternoons, it was very full. It was an amazing time pouring out into the school and base but I’m so happy to be home with my family and school.
Walking By Faith…
Lastly, we need huge prayers on this one. Recently God has led us to consider a home here in Kona. It’s a perfect place for us to live in community together with other staff from YWAM (we have a huge housing deficit due to demand and high rental costs…but it’s a good problem because so many are coming to get trained and sent). The other draw to this house is that it already has a legitimate recording studio built out inside. All I need to do is move my gear in and start recording. I want to use this space to capture demos from songwriting retreats with our artist friends from all around the world (such as Leslie Jordan), offer local Christian artists and church worship teams here in Kona recording studio time at a very affordable price, have a creative space to continue writing and recording my personal music, and be a house filled with worship and prayer in the community. We asked God to make it clear if we should move forward in pursuing the house and he brought us a buyer for our condo unsolicited. We haven’t officially entered into escrow on the sale of our condo yet, but we’re very close. Pray with us as we take steps of faith to see God release finances for the new house so that we can purchase it, and continue to live within our budget. Will you also pray and ask the Lord if you’re to help with the purchase financially?
Prayer
How can we be praying for you?? Please let us know! We would love to pray for you! We pray for lots of things but it would be amazing if we had specifics to pray for with our own missionary team! We love you and are so grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for the many ways that you sow into our ministry here in Kona and around the world!May the Lamb receive the full reward of His suffering!!Peace be with you,Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, and Baby MosesP.S.- We have a current goal to raise an additional $2,000 of monthly support to help get closer to our ultimate goal of being fully funded missionaries. Would you pray for us and also consider if there's anyone you know that may be interested to hear more about our ministry with YWAM. Many blessings and love to you all our dear friends.
