McCalls on Mission May 2017 Newsletter

"There is today no lack of Bible teachers to set forth correctly the principles of the doctrines of Christ, but too many of these seem satisfied to teach the fundamentals of the faith year after year, strangely unaware that there is in their ministry no manifest Presence, nor anything unusual in their personal lives." A.W. Tozer (In preface for 'The Pursuit of God')
Aloha ,
Friday, May 12th, marked exactly three weeks until we hop on a plane to fly back to Kona for our outreach debrief. We have done so much here in Norway and still have so much left to do. There have been countless opportunities to minister and we have had a front row seat to seeing people be radically encountered by the extravagant love of God. One example was when we held a ministry night at the Universitetet I Agdar on May 11th in the city of Kristiansand (the biggest university in all of Norway). We met with Christian leaders on the campus at the beginning of the week to worship, pray and dream for Thursday night. The rest of the week was spent in intentional prayer at the school in the "prayer room" (that they have set up on campus for all faiths) asking God for his heart for the students and doing evangelistic outreach on the campus. When I began the Thursday night meeting with worship, we immediately began to see God working in every student that came. As we worshiped, people were weeping, repenting, on their knees crying out to God and thanking Him for His love and mercy. As I watched our team minister to others through prayer during worship it was amazing to see so many people go through the snotty crying (I literally watched snot hang a couple feet out of peoples noses as others on our team scrambled to find tissues), joyful repentance, and then the tender touch of God that brought people to a deeper, more passionate worship of the King of Kings. By the end of the night there was such a presence of joy and laughter in the room. So much so that joy began to break out in other places of the university as we all walked out to our vehicles. The Spirit of God had come like a rushing wind into our meeting and blew throughout the whole campus. What an amazing evening it was and just a small glimpse into what we've been seeing happen everywhere we go. All the Glory goes to God and we are so grateful to partner with Him has he transforms the hearts and minds of the people of Norway. Below is a map of all the places we have been to and ministered in so far here in Norway! (All thanks to our friend Nick for putting this together.)

The dots represent every place we've lived and/or ministered in.
We have spent a ton of time in a van driving all over Norway and living a lifestyle of mission that doesn't just happen at our gatherings but as we stop at gas stations and play at parks.
Praises:
* God has given such grace for ministry in Norway. The harvest is truly ripe.
* God has been meeting every need for our family: emotional, spiritual, and physical.
* God has been lighting fires of reformation and revival everywhere we go.
* We are seeing the body of Christ step out of denominational lines and stepping in to unity...all names being set aside and only the name of Jesus being exalted.
Things you can pray for:
* We still have a couple long drives left during our time here in Norway. Pray for travel mercies.
* That God would continue to increase unity in our team for His glory.
* That God would give us all energy. The days continue to be long and full.
* That God would prepare the hearts of the people we are to minister to in the new city we are currently in. (The city of Bergen)
* That the unity breaking out among the body of Christ would be lasting because of personal pursuit of God and God alone. That the Spirit of the living God would give a fresh empowerment for a new wave of revival that would spread throughout all of Europe.
* I just got word today that our van in Hawaii is having transmission problems. Pray it won't be too expensive and that the funds to pay for the repairs would come miraculously!

to us
during our training that is non tax-deductible. It is currently the best way to help us pay for diapers, baby food pouches, our health insurance, car insurance, and etc. We are working to have our missionary account with YWAM up and running by sometime in June. Be on the lookout for the email with the link for recurring, tax-deductible giving through YWAM soon.
Mahalo for your prayers and your financial gifts. Knowing we have so many of you contending for us in prayer lifts our spirits each and every day.
May we all throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles us so that we can run with perseverance the race marked out for each of us. Let us each fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith who considered it JOY to endure the cross for us so that we don't lose heart or grow weary. Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever. Amen.
With Grateful and Expectant Hearts,
Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, and Rhema
