On Mission
Aloha
“O though King of kings and Lord of lords, who desirest that all people should dwell together in unity, let they will be known and done among the nations; guide their feet into the way of peace. Remember us and all humanity in thy mercy. Deliver us from the sins which give rise to war and conflict, and strengthen within our hearts the will to establish righteousness and justice in the earth. Give unto us and to all who worship thee the sincere desire to live in peaceful and loving fellowship with all people. Fix our minds and hearts upon thine eternal purposes for your children on earth.” Moravian Prayer for Peace
2018
As I think back on 2018 I’m amazed at all that the Lord did through our little family! Collectively, our family spent a total of 99 nights living out of suitcases so that:
missionaries could be refreshed, believers would be activated in the calling of the Great Commission, unbelievers could hear the gospel (many for the first time), Bibles could be distributed where believers currently don’t have the bible in their language, Pastors could be trained in showing the Jesus Film and commissioned to go to unreached regions, Worship leaders could further their training, and for countless many to experience the tangible love of Jesus.
Following in the example of Jesus, every single night spent away from the comfort of our own home and beds, were worth every minute of seeing people find freedom in discovering and knowing the one true living God! We went to Indonesia, Norway, Myanmar, Finland, back to Norway, Thailand, Cambodia, and California. Some of these gatherings were to intentionally fuel things happening in the Middle East. For security reasons I cannot share who they were and what exact areas they are in.
Needless to say, 2018 was rich in memories, growth, and many more believers being added to the church. All of those numbers don’t even count the many missionaries we helped train on campus here in Kona. Those students were sent to the nations for the plentiful harvest of which they did reap. It’s still true today as it was true when Jesus said the words, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields” Matthew 9:37-38 (NLT).
2019
As amazing as 2018 was, we believe this is just the beginning of what God wants us to partner with into the future. I (Chris) was just recently in Korea for a gathering of our UofN (University of the Nations) School of Worship global school leaders. There were 60+ attendees which represented around 23 schools, and over 30 nations represented. I had the opportunity to teach, sit on a panel that harvested questions on a wide range of topics, and was also asked to be a part of the lead team for the Global leadership of the School of Worship. It was a rich time of fellowship with brothers and sisters from all over the world, including Madagascar. Honestly, every time I saw my brother from Madagascar the song “I like to move it move it…” would pop into my head. Then he told me that their YWAM base is near a lemur reserve…it couldn’t have gotten any better.
Prayer
We are so grateful for each and every one of you. The role each of you play on our team is essential and extremely vital to the mission. Even as I type this, I got a picture of Jesus smiling over each of you. It was the sense that He was so very pleased in the ways that you love Him and love others even in partnership with us! Would you pray with us as we look forward to 2019. We are believing that the whole family will take two trips this year. One back to Norway for the family camp we minister at and the other to the Philippines. We believe God is calling us to trust Him for the finances of two huge trips because it is vital that the full family represents God for His glory in those two nations this year. As for me personally (Chris), I have teaching and worship leading planned in Norway (two times), evangelistic outreach through music and preaching in Myanmar and the Philippines. I’ll have two separate trips to the Philippines, the second of which will include the family. If you feel led to help offset the costs of these trips you can do so below. If you know anyone who would be interested in helping partner with our ministry please feel free to send them this email or text them a link to our app.
Lastly
I’m part of a team that has a strategic plan for reaching the country of Myanmar. We believe this is a special window of time while the democracy is still young and pliable to help give a solid biblical foundation to local and national leaders. Since the country is open we have an incredible opportunity to bring the gospel and encourage local believers to go to the unreached parts of Myanmar with the gospel. Our evangelistic strategy encompasses public proclamation events coupled with door to door evangelism, empowerment of local believers, Pastors trainings (Jesus Film), intentional calls to adopt people groups and districts of the nation, and the sphere of media through tv, radio, and social media programming. Our mercy strategies include a stove project and water filter systems. Lastly we have a strategy for bible distribution and engagement. The beautiful part of all this is that we’re doing all of this in partnership with dozens of other organizations. It’s been so wonderful to see the body of Christ working together to see the great commission fulfilled. Our total need to fundraise for this initiative is $6,840,500. Yes, $6.8 million…and I believe God is dreaming even bigger than us! The quick breakdown is:
Evangelistic Strategy: $1,048, 000
Bible Distribution: $5,500,000
Stove Project: $270,000
Water Filters: $22,500
If you or anyone you know would like to know more about this initiative, I would be so happy to share with you the vision and strategy.
Phone App...
We have a MOBILE PHONE APP that is available for iPhone and Android! If you type in the app store 'McCalls on Mission' you will be able to find it and download it! We're hoping to use it as a way to make it easier for you, our co-laborers in Christ, to share what we're doing with others, for us to give you real-time updates when something happens that we just can't wait to share, and a way to send new music to you that I've (Chris) been writing. May the Lamb receive the full reward of His suffering!!
Peace be with you,Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, and Baby MosesPS: We would love to hear what your hopes and dreams are for 2019!!
