Ever Heard of OMT?

To Know God...and Make Him Known

"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!'"Revelation 7:9-10

OMT

In 1966, Loren Cunningham was part of caravan headed to a certain town in Mexico. Upon arrival, they spent the day going door to door handing out the Gospel of John and another piece of literature to help people know Jesus and how they could have a relationship with him. Near the end of the day, as Loren was headed back to the vehicles, a lady with a faded red dress came to Loren and asked, in spanish, "Do you have a Bible?" She said she had asked everyone in this town and no one had a Bible. Loren immediately thought to himself, "my, I got all kinds of Bibles at home in my shelf. All kinds of versions, all kinds of languages, but she doesn't have a Bible!" Loren and his team were able to track down a Spanish Bible and give it to her. She held it so preciously and was so grateful. The Lord began speaking to Loren about what it meant not to have a Bible. In the Lord's prayer it says, "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Loren asked the question, what isn't being done on earth that is being done in heaven? Every language, that means all mother tongues, are spoken there. They are used to glorify and worship Jesus. On earth, every language is not used to worship Jesus. 90% of mother tongues don't have the whole Bible. 200 million people speak a mother tongue without a single verse of scripture. There are 1 billion adults who cannot read. 2 out of 3 won't read. God speaks...the Bible says in the beginning God speaks. He didn't write, he spoke. God speaks over 1,800 times in the Old Testament and man writes it down. God still speaks and says, "Faith comes by hearing. Hearing by the word of the Lord." We are living in a time where we can reach every nation on earth. So Loren came up with the idea of giving people the Bible Orally, in their mother tongue. That's what OMT stands for; Oral Mother Tongue. This was Loren's last vision and word to YWAM before he died. He talked about it constantly, every opportunity he had, for two years, until the day he graduated to Heaven. We are committed, through our work with School of Worship (YWAM Kona), to help facilitate and record OMT translations and concurrently train and equip to see scripture songs written in those languages and cultural style. What an exciting time to be alive and I am grateful to be a part of this grand assignment from God; my own mother's heart language being one of those languages without any scripture verses. This isn't just an assignment, I believe this will become a movement.

Nairobi, Kenya

As you read this, Malakai and I (Chris) will be boarding our plane this evening to start our journey towards Kenya. We are excited to come alongside the many worship leaders and musicians in training and equipping. Most importantly, capturing their songs and sound. New songs from six different tribes will be recorded continuing on the vision that Loren had, to see every language used to worship Jesus. These tribes are: Maasai, Samburu, Turkana, Luhya, Kalenjin, and Kikuyu. We are traveling with great expectancy to see God's presence touch many lives through these songs. Thank you for praying for us and also to those of you that gave to Malakai for his travel and accommodation expenses. If you'd like to read, more in-depth, about what we are doing, you can read Kai's Support Letter Here.  The link to give towards Kai's missionary journey is also HERE

Final Remarks

Liz and I cannot even begin to express our heartfelt gratitude for the team that God has gathered around us. Thank you for doing missions around the world with us, praying for us, believing with us, trusting God in all things with us! We are expectant for many breakthroughs this year and they will be filled with much celebration knowing that it wasn't us, the McCalls, but us, the family of God walking out 'Christ in us, the hope of glory' together. We pray blessing, favor, and protection over each of you and your families in the mighty name of Jesus. May the Lamb receive the full reward of His suffering!!

Peace be with you,

Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, Moses, and Zion ♥️
