“But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, that he could adopt us as his very own children.” Galatians 4:4-5

Christmas...It's quite hard to believe that we are in the Christmas season again. So much has transpired in our lives this year. We have seen God move all over the world. We have seen the goodness of God poured out over and over and over. We are undone and awestruck by how a simple "yes" in obedience to Christ can open doors unimaginable. Jesus' simple yes...

I love the carol 'O Little Town of Bethlehem.' It is so sweet and so beautiful. 'How silently, how silentlyThe wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human heartsThe blessings of his heaven. No ear may hear his coming, But in this world of sin,Where meek souls will receive him, stillThe dear Christ enters in.'

The third verse always touches me so tenderly. That God would impart the blessings of heaven to us...and even in this world of sin, there are still souls that will receive him! Someone has to go preach the Gospel because there are more souls in the world that will receive him! Christ will enter in...God with us...Immanuel. I love Jesus' 'yes' to come and rescue us!

The Church in Revelation...I'm always reminded of the Church of Laodicea in the third verse of the aforementioned Christmas carol. In verse 20 of Chapter 3 (Revelation), Jesus says, 'Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.' We have sayings this time of year proclaiming, 'Jesus is the reason for the season.' I think it is so true...but often it's easy to get carried away by all the planning of services, dinners, parties, buying presents, sending Christmas cards, et al. In the midst of all that good stuff and our 'right words' Jesus is knocking at the door ready to enjoy all of it with us! Let's be a people that opens the door to Jesus this year and let Him be in every moment with us! He loves doing life with us...because He loves us so very much!

Your Prayers Felt...Thank you to all who prayed for my School of Worship students and staff! Those prayers were felt! We enter into our last week of teaching this coming week and then into the recording studio to capture one song of each student out of the 4 songs they wrote this quarter. What a blessing it has been to serve these students! Amen.Phone App...

We have a MOBILE PHONE APP that is available for iPhone and Android! If you type in the app store 'McCalls on Mission' you will be able to find it and download it! We're hoping to use it as a way to make it easier for you, our co-laborers in Christ, to share what we're doing with others, for us to give you real-time updates when something happens that we just can't wait to share, and a way to send new music to you that I've (Chris) been writing. We're so grateful for every single one of you! We pray that this Christmas and New Years is filled with every good and perfect gift that comes from the Father above. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!May the Lamb receive the full reward of His suffering!!
