To Know God...and Make Him Known

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

God Is LOVE
Love
This is the Christmas story that we so often forget during Christmas. The reason why Jesus even came into our world in the first place…God’s love for a world which was perishing that He, as Paul states, wouldn’t even “spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all” (Rom 8:32). The love that God has for us is incomparable to any other type of love that we could experience in this world. His ‘heavenly’ love for us is shown fully in the coming of Jesus to this world. It initiates and models a new teaching of love to the world. A teaching that says, if you truly love, you will give up your rights to your dearest things in order to express that love. For humanity, we cannot truly love others unless we have God in us because only ‘God is love.’ We cannot truly know love unless we know God.
This Christmas Day, receive the gift of God’s love to us which is independent of performance. There's nothing more, which we could do, that would cause God to love us more. He already loves us the most He ever could; endlessly. Rest in a love that is not earned but given freely…the greatest Christmas gift of all.
Consider this passage below as you ponder the beauty love of Christmas.
1 John 4:7-16“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.”
We pray for humility today, Father. Our Savior entered this world in a manger with animals. When we feel too proud, let us remember this Holy moment of Jesus’s humble birth. Would you be the continual focus of this day and the days ahead. May your heavenly love wash over us all the more and would we receive this indescribable gift without hesitation. Amen.
'Love' be with you,Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, Moses, and Zion
