To Know God...and Make Him Known

“You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.” Acts 2:28

God Is Our Joy
Hope
Joy is a mark of individual believers as well as a mark of the whole Church collectively. This biblical joy that we have, as God’s holy people, is one grounded upon God alone which begins totally and utterly with Him; never in emotion. We only have joy because God, in His mercy, gave us joy.
In this season of Advent, we remember joy coming to this world in the form of a human baby. I love the Christmas song “Joy To The World”.
‘Joy to the world the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing’
Jesus brings a new fullness of joy to his people through His entrance into our world. Our Savior, our Lord, our King has brought His Kingdom to us. What would it look like to embrace this season as a time to remind our hearts to be ‘filled’ with God rather than things? To ask for a filling of the Holy Spirit in such a way that causes us to sing out just as all of heaven and nature does?
As we consider all that God has done for us, may we be people who let the joy of the Lord fill us to overflowing day after day.
Nehemiah 8:10And Nehemiah[a] continued, “Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength!”
Lord, send Your Spirit to guide us during Advent this year. May the Holy Spirit help us journey closer to You and lift us up when we feel down. Lead us when we feel lost. We may stumble at times, but we know our ultimate journey is to draw closer to You and build Your kingdom here on earth–a kingdom that Jesus’s birth, life and death helped secure. Amen.
'Joy' be with you,Chris, Lizzi, Malakai, Laila, Rhema, Moses, and Zion
